I was recently interviewed by Jess Pike, Editor of Education Executive magazine, about my NAACE Impact Award, the development of ClassThink, and general trends in educational technology. In the interview we talk about future developments in BYOD, 1:1 iPads, and how mobile devices are changing schools around the world.

I also talked about why I’m a big advocate for Google Apps, and the need to encourage creativity in students by giving them access to as many devices as possible. Part of the article also covers how ClassThink got started and grew into what you see today.

From the article:

Part of Rivers’ skill has been keeping up with — and in some ways, staying ahead of — the edtech curve. There have been huge changes in the last 13 years, but it’s really since 2010 that the edtech world has gone into over drive, with a proliferation of clever technology that has divided opinion and caused a shift in the way we view modes of pedagogy.

If you’re responsible for managing technology in your school, EdExec magazine gives a great “big picture” view on running ICT projects in education. You can subscribe to Education Executive magazine here.
